Patient Account Representative

JOB DESCRIPTION

The position will work directly under the supervision of the Administrator and is a liaison between the home and the executive office. Responsibilities include communicating and working cooperatively with fiscal intermediaries, private insurance companies, auditors and other facility and executive office staff. Coordinates Medicare/Medicaid process for residents, verifies Medicare days available with the intermediary, works with admissions/social services/nursing to complete information needed for admissions/discharges. Also maintains accurate census records to include changes in payer sources, room changes, bed changes, discharges and transfers, leave of absence and hospital bed hold agreements. Oversees and maintains the resident trust account and cash receipt log of daily deposits. Verifies ancillary invoices for respiratory therapy, DME, and pharmacy.

*QUALIFICATIONS*

Successful candidates should possess five or more years’ experience as a Patient Account Representative or Business Office Manager in LTC. Candidate must also be proficient on the computer.
